Global Grad Show 2019
Global Grad Show is the world’s leading exhibition of graduate design as part of Dubai Design Week, the largest creative festival in the Middle East.
Each year, universities across the globe are invited to put forward their best graduate projects, of which 150 are selected and presented in this exhibition. Marking its fifth iteration, this year’s edition of Global Grad Show features work from over one hundred universities across six continents.
All design disciplines are represented – from architecture, to digital technologies, fashion and beyond – and each student has been invited to Dubai to present their work in person.
Theme:
Curated by Eleanor Watson, the exhibition is organised according to the different scales on which each design operates, from the human to the home, the community, the city and the planet. In the face of overwhelming change, both environmental and technological, the designs in this exhibition present the value of independent human agency, and how human choices can play out across different scales. They are a reminder that we all, both designers and users, share a responsibility in shaping the world we live in.
